Float Tank Storage Supervised and Unsupervised

Supervised - If you would like to keep the float solution in the tank, but will not be floating people, begin by filling the tank up to the top of the intake grate. You can tell by the water level being at the height of the tallest finger on the intake grate. Once you have filled to this level, run your filtration unit for 10 minutes to continue the dilution process. Do not let the water level go beneath the normal indicator groove on the small finger of the intake grate.

You may now cut power to the tank as long as you will return every 2-4 days to check the cleanliness and water level. Your float solution should partly evaporate in these 2-4 days, so you will top off the tank up to the proper storage level when you check back, every time. Do not add salt. You can lower your temperature to 71-73 degrees with a variance of +/- 2 or 3. Remember, temperature has nothing to do with salinity for our purposes. Only when water evaporates does the salt level go up, which could make the salt recrystallize.

Unsupervised -  If you are not planning on being operational and want to leave the equipment unsupervised, we usually recommend you draining your entire float solution and storing it in a separate container. This would also be a good time to do a deep cleaning inside the tanks.

You can successfully restore stored float solution by running multiple filtration cycles once you put the solution back in the tank.
